About Carv – Chicopee Alpine Racing Volunteers
 In case you haven't seen the CARV.ca logo before, CARV stands for Chicopee Alpine Racing Volunteers. The CARV.ca website is designed to enhance the experience of the racing families based out of the Chicopee Ski Club. It's main purpose is to inform you of coming racing events and events that CARV.ca is sponsoring to raise funds as well as to make your social experience more enjoyable. CARV.ca is always looking for ideas to provide information to the racing community so if you have any ideas SPEAK UP via ideas@carv.ca. Our sponsors have provided some technical details about racing and we have added some important links to help you through your season. Chicopee Ski Club is an organization that has operated in the Waterloo Region for over 75 years. As such, its mandate is to service a wide variety of interests without showing preference to any specific group. This approach has led to a sound financial and management program that has put Chicopee in a great position to continue serving the region in the future. CARV.ca believes that the Chicopee Ski Club has an excellent Board of Directors to guide the club into the future. The members of CARV.ca also have the deepest respect for the abilities of the staff involved with the racing program at Chicopee.
CARV.ca is the result of a few determined parents of racers and adult racers wanting to enhance the experience of the racing community at Chicopee through social events, fund raising for the racing program and volunteering at events. It is our hope that through the shared knowledge and involvement of parents across the generations of racers going through the program, we can build a solid foundation to develop the talents of our racers over time. Part of this vision is to provide support for new and existing racing families through this website CARV.ca will also celebrate our racers successes throughout the years by maintaining a web-based Chicopee Hall of Fame. Excellence, sportsmanship and success is a beacon to all participants and should be shared. This will be launched in December 2008.
In late 2007, CARV.ca incorporated and became a non-profit organization, developed by-laws and a formal structure to begin a phase of expansion to include as many racing families in as many events as possible. Sponsors have been acquired for the CARV.ca website, training shirts for the racers, the new starting hut to be built in 2008 and various other items including a new set of radios for the coaching staff. We continue to look for sponsors for various projects as needs arise.
